She did it again. MGP just voted to fund DHS without any basic guardrails for ICE. We've seen people shot in the streets and children used as bait to lure out their parents. This isn't business as usual. And I have to ask, what in the hell is strategic about this? She said she wanted structural reforms. Then she turned around and voted for the same bill that made no changes. Nothing. ICE needs to be dismantled. There's no saving this agency or sweeping it under the rug. Congress needs to grow a spine and fix this mess. Not enable an agency that erodes our constitutional rights. When I’m elected to represent this district, I will never act as a rubber stamp for ICE.

The Raymond Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant is critical infrastructure for the City of Raymond, the City of South Bend, and the nearby timber and aquaculture industries. The Trump administration can go on as many cable news shows as they want to lie about prices—but American families know the truth.   The costs of everything from groceries to electricity are UP—and Trump and Republicans are doing NOTHING to help.

We seriously have Republicans talking about going back to the “good old days” of high-risk pools, which just meant that people with preexisting conditions like cancer couldn’t get health insurance.

Today, #MGPisGOP decided to vote against the American people and their access to affordable healthcare. Experts warn that without the subsidies, insurance premiums could rise significantly for many families, even as we are already in a cost-of-living crisis. I want to make it clear that I do not like handing over subsidies to predatory insurance companies. However, removing these supports without a replacement risks leaving millions without affordable coverage. That in turn risks premiums rising for everyone. We need to work toward a universal healthcare system. Universal healthcare is how we can cut out the insurance companies and be certain Americans can depend on their coverage. We need to work toward a brighter and more affordable future.

I just voted against this funding bill because health care costs are skyrocketing. The only thing Trump knows how to do is give tax cuts to rich people, while screwing over working Americans.

Trump has done nothing but cater to his billionaire friends. The result? Folks on Amazon paying 12% more. Folks at Target paying 5.5% more Folks at Walmart paying 5.3% more. Donald Trump said he would make us healthier and wealthier. Instead, we're poorer and sicker.

The vote to reopen the government with no deal on health care is a brutal blow to all those who have stood together to save affordable health care for more than 20 million Americans. I will vote ‘NO’ with every fiber of my being.

Just pointing out that Hakeem Jeffries got TWO HUNDRED AND TWELVE House Democrats to hold the line. Not one House Democrat cracked. Not one House Democrat caved. I’m going to remember that.

Let me be clear. If Senate Democrats cave without funding for ACA credits in hand, all this sacrifice will have been for nothing. We must continue to stand together and demand healthcare funding before getting our support. I firmly disagree with the proposed Senate deal. #WA03
