On this day on 1868, Senda Berenson, the Mother of Women's Basketball, was born! Berenson adapted the rules of Dr. James Naismith’s original game of “Basket Ball” for women while director of physical education at Smith College. She authored and published the first basketball guide for women. In her original rules, the court was split into three regions with players having an assigned region. Players could not dribble more than three times, hold the ball for more than three seconds, or snatch the ball from an opponent.  #wbhof #womensbasketball #basketballhistory
