I played @CrimsonDesert_ tonight on stream on a Series X @Xbox, and honestly it was a rough first impression. Even with HDR enabled and performance mode on, the game didn’t look great visually. It feels like there may be visual limitations tied to the console, because I expected a lot more in terms of overall fidelity. The resolution in particular felt low for a Series X experience. The control scheme was also difficult to get into and felt unintuitive right from the start. The opening story felt especially off. In one scene, Kliff gets absolutely slaughtered by the leader of the Black Bears gang shot with an arrow in the side, stabbed in the stomach, and having his throat sliced. Yet somehow, moments later, he’s pulled from a river with all his starting gear intact and is able to fight off two fully healthy, decently equipped bandits. That kind of disconnect really pulls you out of the experience early on. On top of that, not being able to create your own character once again locks you into playing exactly what the developers want, instead of giving players the freedom to shape their own experience. Overall, I’d give the game a 5 out of 10 in its current state mainly due to the low resolution on a Series X, the confusing start to the story, and the lack of character customization. Even if the graphics matched what was originally advertised, I’d only see this as a 7 out of 10 at best. @xbox, @asha_shar @Microsoft I
