ON THIS DAY 2022 - the Eagles are plunged into a selection crisis heading into their R2 match vs North Melbourne with a host of players unavailable following a spread of COVID. Nic Naitanui, Harry Edwards, Jamaine Jones, Tom Barrass, Jake Waterman, Hugh Dixon and Brady Hough all enter isolation protocols while Andrew Gaff is also set to miss with a foot injury. All up the Eagles make a record equalling 13 changes from the week before with squad members Jack Williams and Callum Jamieson called up for their debuts. Also selected are four players off the Eagles contingency list - Brayden Ainsworth, Stefan Giro, Angus Dewar and WAFL stalwart Aaron Black. The makeshift Eagles team would ultimately go down to the Kangaroos by 15 points
