OH THE PLACES YOU'LL GO WHEN YOU READ WITH A PRO 📚 It's become a Dr. Seuss Week tradition! Walton County Fire Rescue's Lieutenant Massey stopped by a very special classroom - his wife's! The kids gathered around as he shared a fun story and reminded the students just how exciting reading can be. It warms our hearts to see Lieutenant Massey taking the time to inspire young readers and celebrate the joy of books, because... "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go!"

GEARING UP for another week! 🔥🔥🔥 Over the next two days, @WCFRFL crews are conducting LIVE BURN training. This is one of the most realistic and valuable forms of hands-on training we conduct. Live burn scenarios allow our crews to experience the heat, smoke, and fast-changing conditions they will face during real emergencies. Inside the fire tower, firefighters practice advancing hose lines, searching for victims, ventilating structures, and making split-second decisions. This type of training is critical to helping firefighters build confidence in high‑stress, low‑visibility environments, practice teamwork and communication under realistic fire conditions, strengthen tactical skills through live-fire behavior, and maintain the highest level of readiness for our community. Have a great Monday, everyone!

A champion of community health. Arianna Deneau started with the @WCSOFL in January 2019 as a dispatcher. While she made life-long friends in communications, as a Registered Nurse, Deneau wanted to return to the healthcare space and back to her true calling - taking care of people. In 2024, she shifted under the @WCFRFL umbrella taking on the role as Mobile Integrated Healthcare Provider, a program designed to improve community health and reduce unnecessary emergency calls by providing proactive, patient-centered care outside of traditional emergency response. There, Deneau has found her calling as she has strengthened the program while pioneering a drug rehabilitation home-visit initiative (WCFR'S POST Program), partnering with the Florida Department of Health and Florida State University to launch Care@Home, becoming a certified car seat technician, and teaching more than 50 CPR and First Aid courses since becoming a BLS Instructor. As if that isn't enough, that's not what makes Arianna so special. Many don't know, but Deneau spends many mornings visiting patients, checking on them, bringing them coffee, and making sure they have what they need and are being cared for. She wants them to know they are not alone. Something she does, many times, off the clock. Creating relationships and bonds with her community while no one is watching. That's taking care of people. Join us in congratulating Arianna on receiving Employee of the Year for Walton County Sheriff's Office and Walton County Fire Rescue.
