Smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality. Currently (6/8/23, 9:27 am) the air quality in many areas of Wood County is listed as “unhealthy for sensitive groups” according to airnow.gov.

To decrease the potential for health issues in sensitive groups, limit prolonged or strenuous outdoor activity. Take more breaks and make outdoor activities shorter and less intense.

When air quality is elevated, people who are in sensitive groups (children, teens, elderly, people with lung disease such as asthma or COPD, those with heart disease, and outdoor workers) may experience health effects during outdoor activities sooner than others.

It’s important that your children stay on track with their wellness check ups and routine vaccinations to protect them from vaccine-preventable diseases. The @AmerAcadPeds recommends the safe, proven protection of vaccines. Follow the @CDCgov Immunization schedule.
