⚠️US call options volume is SKYROCKETING: Total net call volume, measured as calls minus puts on a 5-day moving average, surged to ~2,000,000 contracts, the highest on record. This exceeds the post-Liberation Day recovery difference by ~400,000 contracts. In other words, call volume has almost NEVER exceeded put volume by such an extent in the past. As a result, the equity call/put volume ratio rose to 1.50, the highest since the 2020 crisis recovery. Over the last 16 years, the call/put ratio has been higher only 5% of the time. By comparison, the long-term average since 2005 stands at ~1.10, meaning the current reading is ~+36% above the historical norm. The frenzy is even bigger than the 2021 meme mania.
