When the Highway 82 fire broke out in Georgia, the team from Grinnin' Possum Food Truck didn't hesitate—the longtime WCK food truck partners knew they needed to serve their neighboring community. Working closely with our teams, they served meals to impacted families and first responders in the area. This was not Grinnin' Possum's first time responding with WCK teams. They've partnered with us for three other natural disaster responses, including Hurricane Debby, Hurricane Idalia, and Hurricane Helene. Each time, they've brought passion and flavor to their communities, making sure that their neighbors are taken care of during challenging times. "It's definitely a team effort. [The team is] all happy to do it and learning a lot of great life experience as well—preparing them for the future, to give back and serve their community too as they grow up," team member Anna Lane told us. WCK is responding in the Philippines after the Mayon Volcano erupted, forcing thousands of people to evacuate. Ash and smoke are causing disruptions and posing health risks. As roadways in affected areas are cut off and many families have been displaced, WCK teams are en route to the region where thousands of families are sheltering. After more than two years of loss, displacement, and hardship, Anas shows up to WCK's Damian's Kitchen in Gaza every day to help cook for his community. When his shift ends, he goes to Dabke rehearsals to practice the traditional Palestinian dance. "I want to release the energy I have and express myself through Dabke,” he says. In times of conflict, culture is more than tradition. It's a way to grieve, to connect, and to hold on to identity when everything else feels uncertain. Fresh fruits and vegetables provide nutrients that are a vital part of recovery for hospital patients. In Gaza, however, fresh produce is scarce or completely unavailable for most families. When fruits and vegetables do arrive, WCK teams ensure hospitals across Gaza receive deliveries so patients get the support they need to keep recovering. #ChefsForGaza

As families begin the long journey of recovery after Super Typhoon Sinlaku struck the Northern Mariana Islands, WCK teams are supporting them with the ingredients they need to start cooking for themselves again. As our hot meal distributions wind down, we know that local communities still have limited access to ingredients. That's why we're supplying them with kits, complete with staples that families already love and cook with, that serve up to 21 meals. #ChefsForRota

When WCK teams arrived in Brantley County, Georgia to support families impacted by the Highway 82 wildfire, community relief efforts were already underway. Chef Mike met Angie “Coop” Cooper, a teacher and coach at Brantley County High School who has been volunteering to serve meals at the Emergency Operations Center alongside several of her colleagues. “Living under this uncertain threat—their school temporarily closed, many of their students and colleagues displaced—they were there with smiles, in service to their community,” he said. #ChefsForGeorgia

On International Workers' Day, WCK's team members in Gaza paused to say thank you. Sanitation workers, laborers, distribution workers, and volunteers—people whose work is essential to everyday life—were treated to special meals by our Community Kitchens, along with sweets and small gifts, in recognition of everything they do. The need for hot meals in Choueifat, Lebanon grew fast as more families were displaced from their homes in the south. In partnership with the Will Association, WCK teams are cooking out of four kitchens and preparing hundreds of meals daily. Nearly four and a half years into Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the work of keeping people fed has never stopped—and neither has WCK. Meals made with love are always more vibrant! On the island of Tinian, where families are still recovering from the destruction caused by Super Typhoon Sinlaku, WCK teams are working closely with local restaurant partners like JC Cafe, which are serving up delicious and comforting meals like the Filipino classic lechon kawali with a side of Chamorro fina’denne’ sauce. In Saipan, Rota, and Tinian, three of the Northern Mariana Islands that were most heavily impacted by the Super Typhoon, WCK has partnered with restaurants that know their community well to serve meals we know they'll love. #ChefsForTinian

WCK teams prepared maftoul for displaced families to bring them that same happiness. WCK’s Ahmed said it best: “We chose this meal in particular because it represents joy and togetherness for us, and that’s the feeling we wanted to bring back on this day.” #ChefsForGaza (2/2)

For Palestinians, maftoul is an ultimate comfort food. Maftoul, or “Palestinian couscous,” is made from bulgur wheat and is traditionally hand-rolled, making the dish a labor of love. Typically served with a flavorful stew of meat and vegetables, families share this dish at special gatherings. (1/2)

When Rawan and her family were displaced from their home in Al-Bureij Camp, they made sure to bring wheat seeds that they had stored. Farmers in Gaza no longer have access to the seeds they need due to border closures, so they are working with what they have to rebuild. For farmers like Rawan, being able to plant crops again is more than a source of income—it’s connection to tradition and a return to normalcy and self-reliance. #ChefsForGaza

In Gaza, farming is central to both the economy and culture—thousands of families have long relied on agricultural income, and communities have depended on access to locally grown produce. But as of May 2025, as much as 95% of Gaza's agricultural land is unusable, and 80% of cropland has been damaged or destroyed. Farmers no longer have access to the seeds they need. Rebuilding Gaza's food system depends on supporting the farmers and food producers who built it. The meals that do include fresh produce are a reminder of what's possible—and what's worth rebuilding. #ChefsForGaza

Almost two weeks after Super Typhoon Sinlaku hit the Northern Mariana Islands, many families remain without power. WCK teams are supporting families on Tinian—one of the hardest-hit islands—by supplying them with ice and fresh water for drinking and storing food.
