Today is a special day, as we celebrate the Corrections Academy graduation of 16 Corrections Officers from five different Ohio Counties. Congratulations to these dedicated Officers who have completed this important step in their careers. We are honored that our partner agencies entrusted us with their most valuable resource, their people. Additionally, we would like to extend special recognition to the Warren County Sheriff's Office graduates: T. Beccaccio, K. Garrett, T. Lowe, and B. Payne

We are so saddened to learn of the passing of retired Sergeant Georgetta Sims this morning. “33” was a proud member of our office for almost 20 years before retiring in 2019. Her service to this office (and radio traffic) will never be forgotten. Rest in peace Georgetta.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the drowning death of a four year old child. Around 4 P.M. today, deputies and EMS were notified and responded to the scene. A child was found in a pond near his home in the Waters Edge subdivision of Deerfield Township. Life saving measures were attempted but were ultimately unsuccessful. The child was pronounced deceased at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. The investigation is still ongoing, and no more information will be released at this time. Our condolences go out to the family for this tragic loss.

Last night Lebanon Elks Lodge #422 invited several first responders to their annual Founders Day Banquet to honor them for excellence. Deputy Troy Fox received this incredible award for his service to our County. Well done Troy! And thank you Elks Lodge #422 for your commitment to service.

Our officers are investigating a shooting that occurred at the Kroger on SR 48. At this time there is no threat to the public. It is a fluid situation. Kroger is closed for the remainder of the evening. Roads in the area are also closed.

We take shoplifting seriously, and we take offenders to jail. Last year we responded to 466 reported theft calls. Help us keep you, your store, and our community safe. If you are a business we serve, and would like a decal, feel free to reach out. We will gladly bring one by.

Congratulations to Deputy Makenzie Cotton, who was promoted to the rank of Sergeant today. She will be assigned to the Deerfield Township Post effective February 7th. She is recognized as a leader amongst her peers and this promotion is a natural progression in her career.

Effective immediately, Warren County has changed to a Level 1 Snow Emergency. Reminder, roadways can still be hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Roads may also be icy. Motorists are urged to drive very cautiously. Be safe and thank you for all of the support.

Warren County is under a Level 2 Snow Emergency. Use Extreme Caution. Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Roads may also be icy. Only those who feel it necessary to drive should be out on the roads. Contact your employer to see if you should report to work.

@Tabythauh Hi Tabythauh…we are surrounded by six counties. Only two of them went to a Level 3. So not everybody. I will credit the road crews.

@WCSO_Ohio So everybody around us is a level 3 but we’re still a level 2… make it make sense?

@WCSO_Ohio hey Warren when do we think we will be on a level one snow emergency? I would like to go sledding but I know it to leave since we on a level two currently. Just curious! :)

We are remaining on a Level 2 through at least tonight. Side roads are a work in progress and it will take some time. Please be patient. If you must travel, give yourself plenty of time and prepare yourself with emergency supplies. Be safe.

Shannon, I appreciate your input and if everyone knows then we should have no issues. And the overwhelming majority of our drivers are doing just this. I am proud of everyone. The difference between a Level 2 and 3 is the ability to make it a criminal offense to be on the roads. We are not there. You do not have to agree, but I hope you can respect the decision. Be safe.

@WCSO_Ohio Why is this not being upgraded to a level 3? The whole county knows the roads are terrible and no one should be driving in it unless it’s an emergency.

Corrections Officers Caden Cook and Marcus Hawthorne have completed the Corrections Academy! This is a huge step in their journey within our Office. Congratulations to you both! We continue to partner with surrounding counties to share resources. This academy was hosted by the Butler County Sheriff’s Office at Butler Tech Public Safety Campus. These partnerships continue to allow us to provide our Corrections Staff with more opportunities for high-quality training.

The prep work has been done and as we wait for the pending weather, please do your part to keep the roadways clear for our plow drivers, tow truck drivers, fire and EMS, and law enforcement. Be safe and be smart. Here is a reminder of the Snow Emergency Levels: Level 1: Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Roads may also be icy. Motorists are urged to drive very cautiously. Level 2: Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Roads may also be very icy. Only those who feel it necessary to drive should be out on the roads. Contact your employer to see if you should report to work. Motorists should use extreme caution. Level 3: All roadways are closed to non-emergency personnel. No one should be driving in these conditions unless it is absolutely necessary to travel or a personal emergency exists. All employees should contact their employer to see if they should report to work. Those traveling on the roads may be subject to arrest.
