Lavatbura elementary school in Kavieng invited WCS PNG and other partners & government institutions to attend the celebration of #WorldMangrovesDay at their community. Papua New Guinea & the world need more communities like Lavatbura to know the importance of mangrove ecosystems.

During a trip to Manus this week, Madam Erin McKee, the US Ambassador to PNG visited the WCSPNG office on the island. The US Ambassador was impressed and congratulate the WCS Manus team for their commitment & dedication to protecting the unique biodiversity of Manus Island.

Preparations for improving village poultry at Kwiop Community are underway. 40 participants from 5 families in each clan participated in training and construction of poultry houses and fencing in the last 2 weeks. WCS PNG thank #SWMProgramme for the funding initiative.
