@theWellRedMage I fully appreciate all the work that went into these remakes, and enjoyed them for what they were, but man when I was a kid we got a new FF game every year.
Now you get one per childhood.
The kids who played the 1st FF7 remake game will be parents by the time they play the 3rd.

Square Enix released Final Fantasy VII Remake on Apr 10, 2020. Love it or hate it, the remake that is not a remake created a new subculture of theorists and devotees just as dedicated as the game's detractors when it comes to plot, authenticity, and more.

Square Enix released The Last Remnant for PC in JP on Apr 9, 2009. Maybe you heard this story before: SQEX considered this to be foundational for their future content strategy but a mixed reception meant that all fell apart. Was Remnant really that bad?

@GamewithDave A year ago, I would've said Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, but now I'd say Lunar: Dragon Song. If they could fix the game's infamously godawful gameplay, I'd give it a chance.

@ArikGenerick I don't remember hearing this in Persona 3, but I absolutely HATED this in SO3, and right after Fayt's dad dies, no less. Way to completely deflate the moment. x_x

@UnnamedARPGDev I will admit that this is one significant area in which gaming has declined, but I still stand by the fact that the past decade of gaming has been the greatest in terms of the sheer amount of options available, and despite some franchises floundering, we still get a lot of peak.

man… I don’t think I’m messing with Dirge of Cerberus… I tried my best to like it and see the good in it but I just can’t. I don’t think it’s a bad game, but I don’t think it’s too good either. Just painfully mid/average. Story, gameplay and design is really disappointing 💔

@orbalology All I've beaten so far are Assassin's Creed: Origins, Atelier Sophie, Brigandine: The Legend of Runersia and Kingdom Hearts 3, and I just started Kingdom Come Deliverance and Cyberpunk 2077. I've made a point to not buy any new games this year and just focus on my backlog.

And that was the best decision!! Part of the og Oblivion's fun & charm were the hilarious things that could happen. None of them were game-breaking bugs. The og was perfect as is. All the remaster needed was a fresh coat of paint, and they delivered!

@SolarisFlame Agreed. All the remaster needed to do besides upgrade the graphics was fix the leveling system, and they absolutely delivered on those fronts. =)
