The experienced team at WD Close have been working to build brand-new bins for the chassis trailers on site. These bins have now been retrofitted to the trailers, facilitating the safe and reliable movement of heavy goods and equipment from site to site.

At the WD Close Carville Port facility, we have recently had the quay dredged to 7.5m by UK Dredging (UKD) and the Orca. We’d like to thank UKD for maintaining the waterways at our port facility and allowing us to continue to provide our services in a clear and safe area!

Members of the WD Close team recently took a trip to the Newbiggin Golf Club to celebrate the annual Mammoet Golf Day. Our team enjoyed a fun day of golf, good food and networking and we would like to express our gratitude to @mammoetglobal for the invitation!

Today marks #WorldMentalHealthDay and at WD Close we are highly supportive of mental and physical health. In our office, we have created a welfare room to ensure our entire team has a safe space to relax, express how they feel, and access support as and when they need it.

Once again, the WD Close team supplied packed lunches to children attending @NEEFC during the school holidays. It is always a pleasure to support this incredible initiative and be able to work with the club to assist local families within the heart of our community.

We are proud to have joined the Tyne Taskforce in setting out a plan for the Tyne to become a global destination for offshore and renewable energy. Joining MPs, @Port_of_Tyne and other key organisations, we are passionate about developing and increasing investment in the area.

Throughout the Easter Holidays, our team supplied packed lunches and Easter eggs to the children attending @NEEFC. It was an honour to collaborate with this invaluable sports club within the heart of our community and to be able to support local families during the holidays.

This Friday, we will be hosting a charity football match in memory of Liam Mitchell. The game will take place at 3pm on the grounds of @NEEFC. Any donations would be greatly appreciated. All funds raised will be used to build a memorial bench in commemoration of Liam.

The focus of #DeafAwarenessWeek is to share ways of supporting those dealing with hearing loss. At WD Close, protecting the hearing of our employees is a top priority. We provide important PPE and ear protection to decrease noise energy and reduce damage to the inner ear.

We care about the wellbeing of all our employees which is why we are developing wellbeing rooms at both our Wallsend and Walker sites. The sites will provide our employees with a calming breakout area as part of our commitment to supporting our workforce. #StressAwarenessMonth

We have joined forces with @NCLCollege Energy Academy and @tynemet to take up to 20 apprentices per year and train the next generation of skilled fabrication and electrical experts. You can read more about the apprenticeship scheme here: 👉 bit.ly/3KQe4J2
