@swinnybottom My concern is that we’ve spent roughly all together 23 million on Strelec, Whittaker, Hansen, Sarmiento, Sene and Conway. None of them have been prolific enough, I’m hoping a few decent quick wingers could get the best out of Strelec, Conway and Whittaker.

@_WillDodds Yep. Some of those chances we overplayed and ended up in a worse position than if we shot earlier but we still had really good chances in many games we wasted. We need a couple of good finishers and some players that will run with the ball and stay wide to stretch the play abit

@Mister_Forest He’s very good at carrying the ball as a central midfielder. Can chip in with goals and assists. Will be interesting to see how he does if he doesn’t have much of the ball. I guess the prem is a different level…

Personally, I think a big strong centre forward who can hold up the ball and play in runners would be perfect for the Hellberg system, but I’m just a divvy nobody. Let’s see if we continue with lightweight flops next year.

@Chris_BoroUTB Recruitment will be under big pressure this summer. I understand that Edwards was in charge last summer and he had a say on players and etc. However the club let Hellberg down massively in January.

4 seasons ago they were playing in League One, now they’ve survived in the Premier League & qualified for the Europa League. Grinds my gears that so many #Boro fans just shrug and insist “we’re just a small club” as we continue to tread water in the second tier year after year.

@Sm0ggs I agree. I don’t have an issue with Hellberg playing this type of football. I actually enjoy it. It reminds me of Bielsa at Leeds. Though you have to have the players for the system. Players like Strelec, Whittaker and etc don’t fit into this type of system.

@_WillDodds Our fitness has been woefully worrying for the last couple of months, players struggling to get past 60 mins.. considering when Hellberg first came in our intensity was miles higher than what it is now

I also don’t think we used the size of the Wembley pitch to our advantage yesterday, so many times Brittain/Targett had acres of space to run into and we just froze and came back inside The chances were there for us and we never took them. 0 shots on target is unforgivable

@NahItsLyingTho 50/50. Recruitment has let him down in January. It’s his job in the summer to be ruthless and demand what is needed.

@Safcmbell 14 goals this season, which is a decent return. The issue is he not consistent enough, in which you saw today. Would massively struggle if he played a level up.

Gives me no joy because I’m sure he’s a lovely bloke, he’s always giving the kids his gloves and shirt after pretty much every game. But many #Boro fans were bang on the money on his ability. The data consistently showed he wasn’t good enough. New goalkeeper a big priority.
