• At least 1 striker
• Two midfielders minimum
• A new left back
• Two new goalkeepers
• A backup to Callum Brittain
• A starting winger
is realistically what we need
Karlsson and Arfsten make sense, but the rest. Who knows 🤷
£20m Roger’s, £20m Hackney 😜

@swinnybottom My concern is that we’ve spent roughly all together 23 million on Strelec, Whittaker, Hansen, Sarmiento, Sene and Conway.
None of them have been prolific enough, I’m hoping a few decent quick wingers could get the best out of Strelec, Conway and Whittaker.
English

@_WillDodds Yep. Some of those chances we overplayed and ended up in a worse position than if we shot earlier but we still had really good chances in many games we wasted.
We need a couple of good finishers and some players that will run with the ball and stay wide to stretch the play abit

Was hellberg just getting a new managers bounce when he came in?
10 wins, 1 draw, 4 defeats in 15 games
31 points in 15 games is automatic promotion form
4 wins, 8 draws, 5 losses after
Would be 20 points in 17 games (18th over a season)
Is he all style over substance?

@Mister_Forest He’s very good at carrying the ball as a central midfielder. Can chip in with goals and assists.
Will be interesting to see how he does if he doesn’t have much of the ball. I guess the prem is a different level…
English

@Up_The_Boro_81 @Scottwilsonecho 100%
We just need to make any attacker we sign is up to the level required straight away. I don’t have the patience to wait for a project signing to hit the ground running!
English

@_WillDodds @Scottwilsonecho We'll 100% be able to recruit attacking players, if they believe in themselves they'll look at out shots and touches in the opposition box and be licking their lips...... albeit We'll probably sell them in Jan if theyve scored a boatload 😂

🔴 Kim Hellberg's response to questions on transfers in the wake of yesterday's Wembley defeat.
The dust hasn't really settled yet - but there are clearly going to be some pretty significant changes this summer... #Boro

@Up_The_Boro_81 @Scottwilsonecho Yeah I get that. It be interesting to see how Wolves, Burnley and West Ham. All 3 clubs seem to be against their ownership.
I also think more attacking players will be interested in joining #Boro this summer…
English

@_WillDodds @Scottwilsonecho Would've been harder if Spurs went down, honestly think the Championship will be the same as this season..... hopefully next year we can take our chances and stop horse shoeing the ball around
English

@rob_fletcher_ I found out today that Middlesbrough have given away the most penalties in the championship 😩
English

@Chris_BoroUTB Recruitment will be under big pressure this summer.
I understand that Edwards was in charge last summer and he had a say on players and etc. However the club let Hellberg down massively in January.
English

4 seasons ago they were playing in League One, now they’ve survived in the Premier League & qualified for the Europa League.
Grinds my gears that so many #Boro fans just shrug and insist “we’re just a small club” as we continue to tread water in the second tier year after year.

EUROPA LEAGUE FOOTBALL IS COMING TO SUNDERLAND!
English

@MFCLewis1 The team is fit enough to play Hellberg’s style of play.
Pre season will be very interesting…
English

@_WillDodds Our fitness has been woefully worrying for the last couple of months, players struggling to get past 60 mins.. considering when Hellberg first came in our intensity was miles higher than what it is now
English

@NahItsLyingTho 50/50. Recruitment has let him down in January.
It’s his job in the summer to be ruthless and demand what is needed.
English

@Safcmbell I think the spygate stuff, has taken a bit off the play offs. It has felt a little weird.
Though I think the right decision was made though…
English

@_WillDodds Well hopefully you do a Coventry next year. You have been fucked over with all this nonsense, but have a really good manager so it seems.
English

Blimey that Morgan Whittaker is horrendous. Very pleased we didn’t sign him a few years back #safc
English

@dannyswhite Yep 🫣
Sit back and force the ball out wide. The best way to beat #Boro
English

4 wins in 18 since Boro played Cov 3 chances to get promoted and blew each one. One goal scored in 3 play off games. No shots on target in the final. Cov set the blueprint and they've been massively found out. Hellberg under big big pressure after failing 3 times. #BORO
English

@Safcmbell Maybe out wide, to be fair to him. I don’t think he has the players around him that suits him. He’s not very quick, so he needs runners around him, which we don’t have…
English

@_WillDodds Are you having him up front next year or are you wanting a better all round player within reason.
English

@BBCTeesSport We need to sign players with his mentality going into the start of next season.
English

Aidan Morris says he feels like he "let so many down" after Middlesbrough's play-off final defeat 😔

English

@Safcmbell 14 goals this season, which is a decent return. The issue is he not consistent enough, in which you saw today. Would massively struggle if he played a level up.
English

@_WillDodds Genuine question as I don’t know, but how many goals has he got this season? He seemed like he had the ability to be a 20 goal a season type striker.
English

@Chris_BoroUTB The warning signs were there before January. Wba at home, Pompey away & Bristol City away.
We should have been ruthless in January…
#Boro
English

Gives me no joy because I’m sure he’s a lovely bloke, he’s always giving the kids his gloves and shirt after pretty much every game.
But many #Boro fans were bang on the money on his ability. The data consistently showed he wasn’t good enough.
New goalkeeper a big priority.
