You don't need to be happy, you just need to be comfortable to access the part of yourself that will broadly resonate. The overly positive facade has been overdone and doesn't attract attention anymore. You can try to catch the next fad, or find something that will last: authenticity.

Why "personal brands" misunderstand what truly attract people: authenticity. You can try to contrive authenticity through a personal brand, but it will take far more time and effort while also missing what we as humans ultimately crave.

You can't force yourself to be natural, which is why it's so scarce to find those who are truly natural and authentic. The best way to create a secure future for yourself in an age of AI and disruption is developing what makes you irreplaceable. What young people are all taught to pursue are standardized roles that are now being replaced, or are otherwise highly competitive.

When you hide a lie you tell yourself, hiding from this is more important to me than being honest with those I care about. The more you hide, the more it reinforces the belief and the more hiding that lie becomes to most important thing you care about.
