Great news for swimmers in Wales! 🏊 The national bathing season is being extended by two weeks, starting from 1 May 2026. Following public support for a longer season, this earlier start reflects the growing popularity of outdoor swimming. 🌊

Two new bathing water sites are being designated in Wales – Fontygary Bay, Rhoose on the coast, and Swing Bridge, Llandeilo inland. Wales now enters the 2026 season with 114 designated bathing water sites, from world-class beaches to lakes and rivers across the country.
