@john_wawrow Thank you for not doing the chummy "Torts" thing. Such an unbecoming trait of too many reporters. As if he wants to be chums. Well, he will when he lands as a (paid) commentator on a hockey panel.
English

"Torts."
Sports reporters should knock it off with the nicknames.
Mark Spector🇨🇦🇺🇦@SportsnetSpec
Like clockwork, when Torts moves on he'll be on a media panel taking a media paycheck from a media outlet. He'll have time for the media then. Just doesn't need 'em right now, is all.
English

@bassetgreg @jeffkhamilton Like you, he's an arsehole. Wind in your neck, carrot.
English

@jeffkhamilton All you guys criticizing Terry are mean, petty, nasty and pathetic. You’re cyber bullies. This is the nicest man you could ever meet you fucking trolls. And he’d never talk down about anyone like you are today. This man is nothing but good. Shame on you.
English

It's not just that he said it, it's that it never once entered his mind not to. He's actually pleased with himself.
While this is an old man, meaning other factors at play, it's similar to the entitlement and lack of self awareness that has come to define the toxicity in hockey.

@jeffkhamilton This is so out of touch man, you go to any diner or waffle house and any senior citizen says this exact same thing to their waitress but because this happened within hockey now the scope shifts to “hockey culture”

@WGFBruin He yelled at me once about I story I wrote. I should have asked him who read it to him.

@GlobeKPD Metal ice trays: they feature prominently in the '24 thriller series, "Ripley."

A great journalism lesson: If you are trying to get good answers from someone in an interview, one of the worst ways to do it is long-ass questions designed to make you (the interviewer) feel or look smart.

There is and cops have been charged with it.
Unauthorized Use of Computer (s. 342.1)
Dumbass.

Every fucking day …
Ottawa again.
Const. Andrew Reesor. 77 unauthorized database searches. Not a typo. Seventy-seven.
Internal records say he queried 44 women, including his own sister.
Admitted some were out of “curiosity” and “attraction.” Also searched colleagues and others with no policing purpose.
Even allegations of deceptive explanations when questioned.
And what follows? Not criminal court.
Six charges under the Community Safety and Policing Act, essentially internal discipline.
Ordered by Ottawa Police Chief Eric Stubbs.
We’ve been here before. Again and again.
Unauthorized access to police databases is one of the most common forms of misconduct, and one of the most consistently handled behind closed doors.
This isn’t a one-off. It’s a pattern.
Personal curiosity. Attraction. Boredom. That’s what people’s private information is being accessed for.
Not investigations. Not public safety.
And the public is expected to trust the same system that keeps dealing with it internally.
At some point, the question stops being “what happened here?” And becomes “Why isn’t this treated like what it is?” A serious breach of trust with real-world consequences and criminal charges?
Why?
Because it’s one rule for them and another rule for us?

@rachaelbereba What about his appearance? The fact that you raise it as an issue suggests that you're judgy. If he's not harming others, including you, live and let live.
