Today, we're burning cattails at the Yellowtail Wildlife Habitat Management Area east of Lovell to improve migratory bird habitat🦆 in partnership with @WGFD and @BighornCanyNPS. We're targeting ~80 acres of cattails around pond 6, N of the Shoshone River.

The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission met in Cheyenne for its January meeting. The Commission voted to allocate $504,000 to improve mule deer habitat for 10 herd units across the state. This will be leveraged with partner funding for a total impact of $4.38 million! #MuleDeer

Early estimates from WY's 2023 sage grouse wings indicate increased reproduction. In a preliminary analysis, WY's 2023 chick-to-hen ratio was 1.82 chicks/hen. It’s an increase from previous years. Learn more: bit.ly/WGFDNews
