Landed safely in Barbados! Party of 30 excited to start our 10 day cricket tour!

In a day of tumbling records, Freddie in Year 7 threw an enormous 25.81m in the discus. Huge congratulations to all of our hard working athletes!

More congratulations to our Year 7 athletes as Blake successfully broke the school triple jump record with an impressive distance of 8.94m! Another athlete who has spend most of his lunchtimes in the pit these past few weeks! Well done!

Congratulations to Thinura in Year 7 who broke the school shot put record with a throw of 9.38m! Thinura has practiced regularly and his hard work has paid off!

Congratulations to Logan Thelwell who when competing at the Wirral Schools Athletics Champs broke the school Shot Put 3kg record by some margin. It had been held since 2019 by Jacob Mitchell 10.48 & Logan threw 12.75m!

The @WGSB PE Dept is now on @instagram and this will also be used for promoting our pupils' excellent achievements going forward.

Congratulations to A Dickinson who broke the Yr7 Javalin record AGAIN setting the new mark of 24m87cm. There is more to come and our students should join @wirralac or any local athletics club!

Congratulations to Logan Thelwell who when competing at the North West Track and Field Cup Athletics finals event broke the school Shot Put 4kg record by some margin. It had been held since 2018 by Kaleb Le’Galls 9.68m Logan threw 11.46m!

Congratulations to A Dickinson who today along with H Casey broke the Yr7 Javalin record but it was A Dickinson who set the new mark of 23m62cm. There is more to come and our students should join @wirralac or any local athletics club!

Rugby: Congratulations to former @WGSB student and @SaleSharksRugby winger Tom Roebuck on being selected in the @premrugby team of the season for 2024/5 - good luck in this weekends playoff semifinal.

Congratulations to Leon Tahana who will start for @DURFC v @Barbarian_FC on Saturday. A huge achievement for a fresher! Massive congratulations Leon! 💪

Congratulations to our Year 7 Basketball team who beat Liverpool Bluecoat in the Junior NBA North West Semi Final. Our Year 7’s will now play in the NBA Finals Day in June in Manchester in a bid to become the North West champions.

Congratulations to our Year 8 Basketball team who beat Helsby High School in a very close game in the Junior NBA North West Semi Final. Our Year 8’s will now play in the Finals Day in June in Manchester in a bid to retain the title they won last year as Year 7’s.

Congrats to @TomRoebuck2 on getting his 100th @SaleSharksRugby cap 💪 Great achievement Tom!

Thanks to @durham_uni student, @DURFC player Leon Tahana who returned to school yesterday to give a presentation on his rugby journey. Leon enjoyed success with @SaleSharksAcad and achieved A*AA in his A levels. He has been a regular in @BUCSSuperRugby as a fresher playing prop.
