Last Grant trivia: As a sign of national respect, POTUS & Mrs Grant are buried in a large tomb. In fact, it is the largest tomb in NYC

Grant's death threw the nation into mourning and a tomb was built to honor him, which lent to years of bad jokes about who's buried there.

He and Mark Twain joined forces to write the POTUS' autobiography. It was a big hit & Grant died knowing his family was covered financially

After the WH, Grant was broke due to bad investments & the govt had no pensions for ex-POTUS. Dying from cancer, he made one last friend
