The results show progress, but sustaining these gains is the next challenge. WHO stands with Timor-Leste in continuing efforts to build healthier schools and support children’s growth, learning, and wellbeing.

Implemented by the Ministries of Health and Education with technical support from WHO and funding from KOICA, the Say No to 5S programme strengthened school health services for thousands of students across Timor-Leste.

Timor-Leste’s Say No to 5S programme is delivering measurable gains for school health nationwide. Teacher training in health promotion more than doubled, access to piped drinking water nearly tripled, and 95% of students received a school health visit in the past year.

WHO Timor-Leste and the Royal Thai Embassy in Dili supported the mission as part of trilateral cooperation to strengthen nephrology services in Timor-Leste.

The delegation met with Dr Flávio Brandão Vice Minister for Hospital Operationalization and visited HNGV to assess existing nephrology capacities and exchange perspectives with frontline health workers.

A delegation of nephrology specialists from Thailand’s Ramathibodi Hospital and Mahidol Univ travelled to 🇹🇱 from 11–13 May as part of a mission jointly facilitated by the Royal Thai Embassy in Dili and WHOTL to support efforts to strengthen nephrology services in the country.

WHO Representative Dr Arvind Mathur handed over tablets for the pilot at Comoro Health Centre, followed by 5 days of training. WHO remains committed to supporting MoH in building a more data‑driven and equitable #healthsystem.

Designed for frontline health workers, the e‑Tracker records each child’s #vaccination history, flags missed doses, reduces duplication, and generates reports automatically. It also works offline, making it useful in remote areas.
