First Lady Melania Trump Announces Opening of Christmas Volunteer & Performer Applications FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Christmas planning is underway at the White House, and President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are excited to continue the cherished tradition of welcoming volunteers to help celebrate the holiday season at the People’s House. Starting today, applications are open for those interested in volunteering for 2026 Christmas at the White House. Americans from every U.S. state and territory are invited to apply for the opportunity to assist with decorating or showcase their talents as a performer at the holiday open houses. The deadline to submit a volunteer application is Friday, August 28, 2026 at 5:00 PM ET. Selected applicants will be notified by Friday, October 2, 2026 at 5:00 PM ET. Please note that all selected volunteers are responsible for their individual travel, accommodations, and personal expenses. VOLUNTEER CHRISTMAS DECORATOR APPLICATION Those interested in volunteering to decorate the White House ahead of the Christmas Season may apply HERE. Please note that any individual applying to volunteer at the White House must be 18 years of age or older to participate. Each person must apply individually; group applications cannot be accepted. Decorating will take place during the week of Monday, November 23 through Sunday, November 29, 2026. Additional details may be found on the application page. In-Town Pool Note #6 - Back at White House Motorcade arrived back at the White House at 4:13 p.m, rolled up to the North Portico gates and was welcomed by visitors lined up on the sides of the road. Other than spotting a lone protester holding a banner reading, "Release the Epstein Files," when the motorcade approached an intersection on local roads near the golf course, it was an uneventful ride. In-town pool report #8- WH entry and lid. The motorcade entered the WH grounds at 17^th and E, then drove northward up to Pennsylvania and circled into the North Portico driveway. The president's vehicle went underneath the scaffolding covering the North Portico, with the protective fabric that has an image of the portico pulled back to allow entry. Pool caught sight of POTUS getting out of his SUV at 4:04 p.m. and entering the White House. As the motorcade drove through the WH grounds, your pooler noted that new, tall permanent fencing appears to be going up around the area around the First Infantry Division Monument, straight south of the EEOB. In-town pool report #7- WH arrival POTUS returned to the White House grounds at 4:02 p.m. after a mostly uneventful trip from his golf club. At one point on I-66, a DC Fire and EMS ambulance flashing its emergency lights appeared accidentally to enter the motorcade ahead of the press vans. 🏌️ In-town pool report #5- loading vans at the golf course We've loaded the vans after an uneventful hold at Trump National. We were told not to hurry. May be some time before we depart. I asked but did not receive a response from the WH Press Office about whether POTUS played golf while at the club; no response either about whom he met. Sonia Dridi of France’s LCI flagged me that POTUS spoke to her by phone at 10:58 a.m., not long after he arrived at the club, and when she asked if he was considering resuming war with Iran, told her “if we don't get 100% of what we want, absolutely." 🏌️ In-town pool report #4- golf course arrival POTUS arrived at the Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Va. at 10:32 a.m. Pool photographer flagged that the president appeared to be talking on speakerphone as he departed the White House, with the phone held about two inches from his ear and the iPhone’s speakerphone button visibly engaged. Traffic was sparse en route. One man walking a white dog stopped to watch the motorcade go by as we headed north from the highway to the club. Man was impassive. Dog was a patient good girl (or boy).
