Our Community Advisory Board (CAB) plays a vital role in that mission—serving as the station’s eyes and ears in the community and helping ensure our programming and services reflect the voices, needs, and interests of our region ✨ The CAB meets quarterly to share feedback, ideas, and perspectives on WHRO’s content, community initiatives, and outreach efforts. This input helps guide how we serve our audiences and respond to local issues. We are currently accepting applications for new Community Advisory Board members for the upcoming fiscal year. If you are passionate about public media, community engagement, and local storytelling, we encourage you to apply. *️⃣ Applications are open through June 1.

MEET YOUR HOST 🎤✨ Brendan Kennedy is a comedian from Norfolk, Virginia, performing since 2005. 🦋 He's been the MC for all of our Story Exchange events, and continues his role THIS WEEK! WHRO's Next Gen Collective brings its “Moth Hour” to the Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts 4/30 at 7PM. Kennedy once appeared on the Discovery Channel series A Haunting as a veterinarian tasked with figuring out if a dog was haunted. His material focuses on relationships, parenthood, and the kind of moments that feel terrible at the time and funny a few years later. He also releases music as the artist BK Stank.

🎉 HAPPY BIRTHDAY DWIGHT Dwight Davis has been working in classical music radio for over 45 years 📻🎶 In addition to his "Morning Classics" and the Sunday afternoon "From the Parlor" programs, his "Bird Notes" feature on Sunday mornings has an enthusiastic following. He served in the Army, then taught science, until an opening appeared at WGH-FM. With no radio experience, he was, by his own admission, not a particularly good announcer. But his love and knowledge of music held him in good stead. He came to WHRO-FM in 1983. Wish him a happy birthday in the comments 👇
