@EricJRacy @jamiegoode Fringe, for whatever reason; exists and long may it do so. But Beethoven and Beatles considered "good" by most standards?
English

@Winemag @jamiegoode Absolutely but that seems to be different for all of us. The wine that gives me that feeling (great Nebbiolo) may not give someone who loves Meiomi that feeling, and vice versa.

Jamie Goode: Do wine experts taste better or simply differently? winemag.co.za/wine/opinion/j… via @Winemag
English

@EricJRacy @jamiegoode As with music, there's hopefully, ultimately something universal in wine: that basic, shared “this is good” feeling.
English

@jamiegoode @Winemag Differently for sure and just like developing your ears when working on music, over time your palate becomes more sensitive and able to pick up on and describe things you weren’t able to initially.
English

@anatweetsnow @jamiegoode Not “better,” just calibrated. With training, you notice more. Different, sure. But useful. Hopefully???
English

@jamiegoode @Winemag An expert’s palate isn’t naturally better, it’s just trained to be different.🤣
English

@JJBuckleyWines @jamiegoode Not disagreeing but expand on "table sense"?
English

@jamiegoode @Winemag Differently first. Better only when the context is right. A great taster without table sense still misses half the wine.
