Accountability post 🫡💚 We did not end last year’s FCancer event properly, and by we, I mean me. I got massively overwhelmed - not an excuse. A reason 🎗️💚 I’m incredibly grateful to @Cynthia_Stnkmp, @hombreave17 and @Vans_Cmkro for their support and effort to help host FCancer 24. On 31st of October 2024, we donated 1.398 Eth (about $3750 at the time) to FCancer via @BetterGiving 🎗️💚 It was another awesome effort, and I’m appreciative of all our Sponsors, the artists that contributed to the auction & Rebels With A Cause collection, as well as the donators & supporters 🙏💚 We wanted to create an experience. We did create an experience. However, the work load is huge and this was not repeatable in 2025 💯💚 Cynthia posted to say we would be pushing/postponing this year’s event due to the workload involved. It was my decisions and it was a difficult conversation for me to have with Cynthia, Jo & Vans, as I know how much this event means to us all 😔💚 Then something happened. @MyCreativeOwls saw Cynthia’s post. And he reached out with an offer to help us host our 4th annual event for @fuckcancer on @WebbieSocialApp 🙌💚 He offered to host an open call where selected artists will be displayed and highlighted on the Webbie platform in October & November as well as at a live event 👀💚 Much more information about the open call in the blog from Webbie, in the post below. The open call starts tomorrow, runs until Oct 15th, and all artists are welcome 🤩💚 People are already offering other ways to support and get involved. We will share more information as we have it and are looking forward to seeing more incredible art for a wonderful cause 🎨💚 What’s happening with @PolygonAlliance, honest answer. I don’t know. I don’t want to throw it away, but it’s not fit for purpose as it is 🫡💚 The website is currently down and I am unsure at the cost of continuing to host it. The Discord is open, but I am not active there 🙏💚 I was never able to realise what I wanted for Polygon Alliance. Which was a community owned platform that supported the community (without a token attached to it) 💜💚 The X account will stay. And for consistency purposes the open call is being hosted from a Polygon Alliance Webbie account, supported by @WITMuseum 🫡💚 Parts of this post should have been written months ago and there are at least 2 drafts I can now delete 🤦‍♂️💚 Accountability aside, this has always been an emotional event for me. And there’s a lot of emotion tied into this post, although I’ve aimed to keep it informative and hope that was achieved 💯💚 Thank you for reading and your support. “Women in Tech 2025 showcase”, my column for Sunday Business & IT , The Manila Times in print and digital edition . Two of my favorite artists — Muriel Lherm @muriellondon from London and Jeanne d'Art @_Jeanne_d_Art from Germany — also had their works featured in this showcase. Lherm's piece, "Veil of Luminescence," echoes the perseverance of women in this digital age. In discussing her work she used "light as a metaphor for visibility and empowerment in a world that often seeks to silence them, honoring the fight for women's rights and their undeniable role in shaping the future of technology." Jeanne d'Art describes her "Parallel Presence" artwork as a logical and intuitive dance between digital and physical worlds.
