MEDIA: PIO Sergeant Hercules will be available for on-camera interviews or sound bites at the West Jordan Police Department at 10am this morning regarding the suspicious death that occurred in our city yesterday.

7800 S. from Redwood Rd. to 1300 W. are closed this morning due to a fatal accident. Police are on scene investigating, and it is unclear when the road will reopen. This is significantly impacting the morning commute. Please avoid the area and plan an alternate route.

Media Update on the West Jordan Officer Involved Critical Incident from Sunday 11/10: The suspect in this case has been identified as Fernando Fernandez, a 46 year old male of West Jordan.

We appreciate the response from the community and fellow law enforcement agencies in their efforts in locating Steadman. We offer our sincere condolences to the loved ones of Douglas Steadman.

Update: Steadman has been located in the area of Utah Lake. Steadman was located deceased. Utah County Sheriff's Office will be handling this investigation pending the outcome of a report from the Office of the Medical Examiner; however, no foul play is suspected at this time.

MEDIA: West Jordan PIO Sergeant Hercules will be available for an on-camera interview regarding the motorcycle crash on Mountain View Corridor (WJ24-24815) at 1pm at the West Jordan Animal Shelter (5982 W. New Bingham Highway).

Under this initiative, when a WJPD officer conducts a routine traffic stop involving a mechanical issue, such as a burnt-out light bulb or a broken turn signal, officers may offer vouchers for complimentary repairs at select local auto repair shops, as opposed to a citation.

The West Jordan Police Department is joining forces with Lights On!, marking the first partnership of its kind in Utah. The West Jordan Police Department is holding a press event on Monday, April 15th at 10:30 AM at the West Jordan Police Department (8040 S. Redwood Rd.)

MEDIA: WJ PIO Ramírez is available for on camera comment from 4 p.m. today at the Thomas Reese Justice Center (8040 S Redwood Rd), in regards to the shooting incident that occurred yesterday afternoon (case WJ24-14364). located at 8040 South Redwood Rd.

The female was transported to the hospital for evaluation. The female was identified as Christina Buchanan and was booked into the detention center on domestic violence related charges and active arrest warrants.

The male advised he was being held against his will. The male was able to come out of the residence and officers called out to the female, whom was still inside the residence. After multiple call outs, the female came out of the residence and was taken into custody.

Officers were dispatched to a residence in the area of 7950 S & Big Sycamore Dr on reports of a possible domestic violence incident. Upon arrival, officers made contact with an adult male via video surveillance and ultimately phone call.
