ככה אנחנו מקבלים את תומכי הטרור Welcome to Israel 🇮🇱

I think this article criticizing Omer Bartov is filled with problems (they argue there was an "eliminationist Zionist consensus" among Jews in Palestine before 1948, which is a joke), but I want to highlight one point: The authors denounce Bartov for thinking about the interests and the future of Jewish Israelis - their collective existence beyond zionism, and for trying to see nuance in zionist history. They argue that by doing so, Bartov is silencing Palestinian voices and reaffirming a colonial logic. Now, he might do that, being an Israeli writing a history of zionism, which is indeed imbued with "settler logics". But to say "colonial" is not enough to make a political argument. What I don't understand is what the plan is from this radical perspective, which seeks to sideline any and all real existing Jewish Israeli positions? We can trash on Israeli society all we want - it's supremacist, racist, genocidal, and whatnot (the favorite adjective in these circles is "depraved") - but if freedom for Palestinians is the goal, I don't see this happening without buy-in from Israelis. Ignoring this is ignoring the path toward liberation. I seriously don't understand the plan beyond moral outrage. Even BDS needs to think about how the pressure changes Israeli consciousness, but for the authors here, who are quite representative of much of the movement, this is a non-issue. This is BAD POLITICS. jacobin.com/2026/05/review…

Today marks Nakba Day, an annual day of remembrance to commemorate the expulsion of more than 700,000 Palestinians between 1947 and 1949 during the creation of the State of Israel and the year that followed. Inea is a New Yorker and a Nakba survivor. She shared her story with us — one of home, tradition and memory over generations.
