Genuinely curious how many ppl who think JCW Lunacy is a good wrestling show, have actually watched it. I suspect most of you just watch MarkyD (who is paid by them) praising it.
The show hardly has any wrestling, the wrestling it does have sucks. Pure Russo trash.

Spike hated Russo, thought he was a fraud. Dixie for whatever reason was convinced he was this creative genius who created Rock & Austin and kept hiring him. She secretly hired him and everyone was sworn to secrecy, then he emailed notes for the announcers for a show to Mike Johnson instread of Mike Tenay. Johnson wrote about it. There were hours of total chaos in the office because they knew they were screwed. A few days later I was told Spike had canceled the show but would let it run until the end of the contract, but I couldn't report it because nobody knew. Then it came out, that was the reason, but publicly people claimed it wasn't canceled because they still had months left and didn't want it official until much later.

@davemeltzerWON Which one is untrue? That Impact was cancelled over a disagreement on rights fees or that it was cancelled over a deception regarding Vince Russo’s status with the company?

They never wanted it public. We had discussions. For public, they never wanted to acknowledge Russo existed or they cared. But for private,it was a very different story. For private,they told me they were dumping TNA when Johnson was still writing about how they weren't and how they wanted to buy into the company. He can dig in all he wants. It is a subject he clearly doesn't know given he was denying the Satin story for months after it was already privately canceled.

That's untrue by the way. Sahadi covered it in his book. Believe me, I know in great detail from both sides and had to sit on the Spike cancellation story until somebody else broke it and Johnson continually denied it was canceled for months but it was canceled I think two weeks before it ever came out, and Dave Scherer even messaged me to say the cancellation story was fake when it was broken but I knew better.

"The story that is often passed around is that Spike dropped Impact because they were misled that Vince Russo was no longer working for the company when he was actually working there. Since I broke that Russo was secretly working for the company, another version that floats around is that I caused the cancellation via my reporting. The reality is that - and I hate to defend Russo, since he has out and out lied about me in the past - Russo had no bearing on Spike dropping the company. When it came time to renegotiate a deal, Spike wanted to pay more money and Dixie Carter insisted on a raise in rights fees. One source has told me she was seeking a $26 million dollar deal. Spike refused, wanting a lesser deal (I have heard $14 and $16 million) and Carter refused and held fast. Spike then opted to drop the series, although Carter, realizing she lost the gold mine, tried to strike a new deal with Spike all the way to the end. It all had to do with TNA's negotiations, nothing more. I'd love to point the finger at Russo but he had not bearing on whether the series remained at Spike or not, and that's the truth. The blame falls at Dixie Carter's handling of the situation, based on multiple sources I've spoken to over the years. On the latest episode of Dark Side of the Ring basically confirmed what a lot of people have been saying for years!
Eric Bischoff helped drive TNA straight into a financial death spiral.
They walked into a company they didn’t understand, threw away everything that made TNA different, and turned it into “Diet WCW.” Instead of building the young stars and the X-Division that fans actually cared about, they filled the roster and creative meetings with their buddies, recycled the same names, and chased nostalgia that was already 10 years past its expiration date.
Then Bischoff’s response is somehow even worse.
His defense is essentially, “Well, it worked in the ’90s.”
Yeah… because it was the ’90s.
Those ideas were fresh THEN. Running the exact same NWO style formulas, the same authority figure tropes, and the same recycled booking years later wasn’t innovative…it was lazy. Fans had already seen the movie. You can’t keep rereleasing the same script and act surprised when nobody buys a ticket.
This is exactly why I can’t take Eric Bischoff’s wrestling opinions seriously in 2026. Every time he critiques modern wrestling, he speaks like someone whose last major creative success happened nearly 30 years ago. Since then? WCW died, his WWE run flopped, and his TNA experiment is now literally being dissected on Dark Side of the Ring as an example of what not to do.
At some point, nostalgia has to stop being confused with credibility.
