@tiffanyrg9 @rockcreekfreak Maybe. I'd have to dig deeper into the number they are reporting, seems to be pretty consistently inconsistent between O&G how they report ARO. If you're only reporting your AER LLR and are a non-operator in most of your assets it wouldn't capture hardly any of your 'real' ARO.

Maybe they were pulling the LMR liability number from DDS instead of the liability assessment number from OneStop. It took longer for the DDS number to be updated after the directive changed. Also the DDS number (which no longer exists) was calculated differently (mostly because most sweet multiwell oil batteries were excluded).

@rockcreekfreak The AER changed the Directive 11 liability values, the areas where most of their assets are would have increased a fair bit if they are using the AER numbers instead of their own estimates, surprised it would have been that big an impact though.

There’s a balance that’s being ignored when you make blanket statements like yours above. It comes across as ignorant (although I don’t think that’s your intent). It’s a complicated issue for sure.

@chrisinmontreal @rockcreekfreak @WSB_redditor @bankofcanada I moved from small town AB to Calgary because there are jobs here but not there (if you want to do something other than farm labourer or mechanic work) but if you buy a property an hour away from downtown (where I work) you then have to pay $450/mo to park + gas.

Personally I wouldn't want to live in a big city with my child even if it was the same price but you can still buy a property in the distance (hour away?) for a good price especially in western Canada (SK, MB, rural Alberta?)
