Being numerate is about ... [#7] ... being aware - and understanding why - that for some businesses, it pays to pay monthly instead of annually.

Being numerate is about … [#6] … appreciating the existence (and relevance) of alternative units of measure (in knitting, navigation, carpentry, etc), and having a sense of what they look like.
