It’s almost a month since protests for the death of Mahsa Amini began. The courage and bravery of women in Iran is the epitome of what it means to stand up for justice and freedom. We wholeheartedly support and are wowed by the will and grit of these powerful women. #MahsaAmini

September the 30th marks the truth and reconciliation day. We sympathize with the first nations of Canada for all the historical atrocities that took place. May we have a more united future.

2021 WUSC report: 1. Global displacement hit a new record. 2. Women and children continue to be disproportionately affected by displacement. 3. Climate change is predicted to drive future displacements. 4. Canada resettled more refugees than any other country in the world.

Only 3% of refugee children will go on to participate in higher education. For refugee girls, the threat is particularly grave. Refugee girls already have less access to education than boys and are half as likely to be enrolled in school by the time they reach secondary level.

Memorial is now home to 4 WUSC scholars, thanks to the 2 dollars contribution of each student per semester. The student refugee program supports refugee scholarships across the globe and welcomes our dear friends to MUN(More information in the comments).

Today Minister @Gerry_Byrne announced a bundle of new supports to help retain international graduates. This includes a policy change to make medical care coverage post-graduation among the "best-in-class" in Canada & funding for career development. More: gov.nl.ca/releases/2021/…
