The Warriors hired Steve Kerr, who had no coaching experience, out of the broadcast booth—and brought in Bob Myers, an agent. That risk by the Warriors brass worked out. The Niners hired John Lynch from the broadcast booth and paired him with Shanahan. That duo has been highly successful. This risk can bring a lot of reward.
