Wildfires are natural, but human activity and climate change are making them more frequent and severe. The good news? We also hold much of the solution. Around the world, communities and innovators are stepping up: 🇧🇴Bolivia: protecting and restoring forests 🇹🇳Tunisia: raising public awareness of wildfire risks 🇲🇾Malaysia: developing wildfire detection technology 🇦🇺Australia: restoring ecosystems 🇬🇷Greece: lobbying for stronger wildfire management laws By protecting and sustainably managing forests, restoring nature, and rapidly reducing emissions, we can turn the tide. The crisis is real but so is the global movement tackling it. wwf.panda.org/discover/our_f…

New research from @PIK_Climate shows that damage to European forests mainly from wildfires could rise ~20% by the end of the century, even if warming is limited to 2°C. 🌡️🔥 ow.ly/7EHp50YrSae Extreme wildfires are becoming more frequent & intense due to climate change. #ClimateCrisis #Wildfires

Jaguars are more than icons of the wild. They’re top predators, keeping rainforest ecosystems in balance. However, the climate crisis is disrupting that role. What does that mean for us? Watch the full video: youtu.be/b7aRSfB7iGM?si…

The latest attempt at a #COP30 climate agreement is in – and it is a major letdown. The draft text has zero commitments to end fossil fuels or stop deforestation. This won’t stop #ClimateChange and puts our future at risk. We’re calling on countries to fix it – today. We can’t let ministers sign off on a deal that puts communities and nature on the line. But it isn’t over. Not yet. The time to turn this around is now. Share this post and call for URGENT ACTION at #COP30

Forests are one of our most powerful climate solutions. They absorb carbon, regulate rainfall and cool the planet – yet millions of hectares are lost each year. As #COP30 unfolds in the Amazon, one truth stands out: climate action and forest protection must go hand in hand.

For decades, the ocean absorbed fossil fuel emissions. Now, marine heatwaves are pushing ecosystems to the edge – and we’re all #InHotWater 🌡️ #COP30 must phase out fossil fuels fast and deploy renewables. Every fraction of a degree matters. It’s time to safeguard our future.

🌊 Big win for the ocean! A major global treaty to protect the high seas (the parts of the ocean beyond any country's control) just reached the number of countries needed to take effect. It's a game-changer for marine life! 🐋🐠 #HighSeasTreaty

"A monumental achievement for ocean conservation" - @WWF Director General Kirsten Schuijt celebrates the 60th state ratification of the #HighSeasTreaty as a turning point for the two-thirds of the world’s ocean beyond national jurisdiction 🌊 #BBNJ #30x30 bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
