Pulborough Brooks Lovely Spotted Redshank and Wood Sandpiper from Hanger VP.Whimbrel,Shelduck with 8 young,At least 6 Greenshanks,6 Ringed Plovers,6 Little ringed Plovers,2 Dunlin,2 Ruff & 2 Common Sandpipers. 16 Avocets,plenty of Redshanks,Nightingales and Cuckoo.

Widewater 10 Bar tailed Godwits,6 Whimbrel E,3 Wheatears on beach and 2 Swallows in off. Later at Bough Beech Res 3f Red breasted Mergansers,4 Shoveler,Cuckoo,Kingfisher,Swallows,Common Terns, unfortunately the 2 Black necked Grebes were hiding in the bay.

@GibsonTomgibo Amazing Thomas! is it just me or are LSW drumming less nowadays which makes them even harder to track down. I find more now calling/inflight/ and sitting atop dead trees then I hear drumming.

A selection of the 10 Lesser Spotted Woodpeckers seen yesterday. Only 2 drummed and only 1 of those for any duration, most calls heard were a weak short laugh, 3 of the birds were seen in pairs, one pair was interacting with a 3rd bird. They are ready to breed.

@Crane_Spotter Had 535 birds here last night in 150 minutes. More high wildfowl flocks,singles of calling Moorhen and Coot and lots of thrushes plus 3 woodcock.

Movement of 225 Redwings west over the garden late afternoon,plus a male Peregrine noted 4 times last seen carrying prey. 32 House Sparrows dropped into roost in neighbours hedge also Red Kite circling above house.

Capel.Bit more signs of cold weather movement today with 104 Lapwing SW during the day and a flock of 31 Fieldfare, 14 Meadow Pipits 17 Common Gulls,normal scarce here in same direction. 3 woodcock and a Water Rail on the dog walk and 2 distant high flying unidentified geese S.

Ashdown Forest Carried out one of my WeBs counts in very wet conditions this morning,105 Common Snipe,1 Jack Snipe & 1 Woodcock. Dropped into WW res on the way back where 71 Pochards were noted at the west end.
