I am a Christian, I am not Fulani. I am supporting Atiku and I am going the whole hog. He is not a Christian and he is not my tribe. I am supporting neither on tribal nor religious grounds. He is the most competent for the job and I am supporting him to win this 4 a better Naija.

…he sees is not what he thought it would be, & that if he had known what he now knows, he would’ve acted differently. I think Seyi Makinde is a very brilliant guy who has great ideas. Prolly too naive in 2023. He said a Unified Candidate by the opposition is NONNEGOTIABLE. 3/3

@Diplomat_01 @Rasheethe Hmmm! Maybe what is happening to him is someone’s answered prayer because he did the same when he was in power. I am not feeling any sympathy for him but I am worried about our institution which he abused himself as Governor and which the present government is abusing now

@MuyiwaAdekeye Hard to sympathize with El-Rufai! What is happening to him has the texture of witch-hunt but this was his own playbook. I hope he learns from this. He brought in APC, fought Atiku to bring in Tinubu…dealt mercilessly with critics in Kaduna and worse…hard to sympathize.

El-Rufai issues public alert Malam Nasir El-Rufai wishes to alert the public to certain malicious orchestrations directed against him. The unwarranted effort to arrest him upon his arrival at Abuja Airport from Cairo on 12 February 2026 served as a clear signal of more troubling developments to follow. On 16 February 2026, Malam El-Rufai honoured an invitation from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He was detained, then transferred to the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) on the night of 18 February. He remains in detention and has been arraigned in two separate high courts. On 18 April 2026, The Nation newspaper published a report headlined “El-Rufai’s trial: Gunmen invade principal witness home.” The article stated that Mohammed Umar Karage, a witness in the criminal proceedings at the Kaduna State High Court, had reported to the police that armed individuals had invaded his residence. While it is the civic duty of every citizen to report crimes to the authorities, it is an entirely different matter to publish false imputations against others. The Nation proceeded to do precisely that by including innuendos suggestive of a plot to frame Malam Nasir El-Rufai. According to the report, Mr. Karage linked the incident to his role as a witness in the corruption charges against El-Rufai—specifically one of the nine counts involving the alleged unlawful revocation and reallocation of land. The article further quoted Mr. Karage as alleging that the invasion might be part of an effort to silence him, drawing parallels with the controversial disappearance of Kaduna-based activist Abubakar Idris Dadiyata. Any objective reader would recognise the clear intent behind these statements: to smear Malam Nasir El-Rufai’s reputation, jeopardise his pending bail application at the Kaduna State High Court, and implicate him in serious capital offences. The evident objective is to secure his indefinite detention through these reprehensible tactics. Such conduct is unacceptable, particularly toward a citizen who has made substantial contributions to our country. Malam Nasir El-Rufai is an upstanding and law-abiding citizen who has no connection whatsoever to the incidents described in The Nation’s publication. Therefore, he has already instructed his legal team to initiate defamation proceedings in this matter. Since 2023, Malam El-Rufai has been subjected to an appalling and sustained campaign of innuendos and vilification. This is a man with a distinguished record of public service. Many will recall his sterling service to the cause of national unity through his principled opposition to opportunism, alongside other senior leaders, during the events leading to the 2022 primaries of the ruling party and thereafter. The rule of law must never be perverted into a tool of oppression. Legal processes should serve the ends of justice, not be employed to deny a citizen his fundamental right to liberty while he stands trial. Malam Nasir El-Rufai should be accorded full due process guaranteed by law to every citizen, and the persistent disregard for his rights must cease immediately. Signed Muyiwa Adekeye Media Adviser to Malam Nasir El-Rufai 19 April 2026

Unless Government is Complicit in the evil happening to innocent Nigerians, the idea of rewarding terrorists in the name of “repentant Terrorists” is NO NO NO
Chidi Anselm Odinkalu, CGoF@ChidiOdinkalu

FROM A VICTIM OF #NIGERIA'S #KILLINGFIELDS ON #REPENTANTTERRORISTS "This is never fair to me and others. I was kidnapped, brutalized, plenty money spent to secure my freedom. After spending my retirement money to build my retiring house here in Kaduna near Kujama in Chikun LGA of Kaduna State. I invested so much into the house measuring four plots where I set up farms. Now, I had to vacate the house and, now it has completely been vandalized beyond human imagination, while I am now living in a rented house. My economy has since been on ground zero. I do not want to talk of the brutality that I received from the kidnappers. I spent the 2020 Easter break in the hands of kidnappers in the forest. Now the criminals are been rewarded for the terror inflicted on me and others, while I carry the pains for the rest of my life. Habba Nigeria! What have we done so bad to be treated in this way? Victims are made to lick their wounds while terrorists are honoured plus the money they collected from us. Honestly, this act of Government has added to my pains beyond imagination. Who is there to speak for me and others? Who is there to come to our aid? Who is there to seek for justice for all victims of terrorism? With what we passed through, no government official has ever mentioned our case in terms of reducing our pains? Habba!! How can I be patriotic to Nigeria with this shoddy treatment? What story will my children tell their own children about what their grandpa past through? I am sad to say the least. I wrote a book after my return from captivity in 2021 on my experiences in the hands of these criminals. I sold more than 3000 copies though I made it so cheap so that people could have copies of it. The book is titled "OPERATION and BRUTALITY OF KIDNAPPERS A Personal Experience" . By Yakubu B. Chiromah I wish the @NigBarAssoc can take up this matter for the victims of terrorism since the government is rewarding criminality over innocent #Nigerians.... Too bad to say the least." - Yakubu B. CHIROMA

All the ADC candidates should team up against Atiku to produce a candidate but it must never be Obi, ElRufai or Malami. Any other person in the opposition is ok.

These senseless people who are tagging the DSS to arrest the sheikh who gave that ₦1 million should redirect their energy toward asking the DSS to arrest the pastor instead. Wallahi, if the world were to end today in the process of standing against blasphemy, no true Muslim would have a problem with that. We are ready to give our lives for it. Because when it comes to the Prophet, I can tell you for a fact that the hearts of all Muslims, regardless of sect, are united. You may do many things and still walk freely, but blasphemy is something that can easily cause serious unrest in this country. I can also tell you for a fact that you will never find a Muslim who mocks or insults Prophet Jesus (AS), as some of you even do. Because if someone does that, they are not even a complete Muslim. Our religion, the Qur’an, and our beloved Prophet define our lives and guide how we conduct ourselves on this earth amd the next So shift your energy toward calling for the arrest of that pastor. There can be no peace where blasphemy exists.

@SimplyTEEWHY @SamboMaiHula The whole of Kaduna shouldn’t be an issue. Break it down to the number of Representatives we have. Just 16 of them bro. So if the “whole” sounds too big, then focus on 16.

Bello Elrufa’i, a coward as I have always said, failed to renew his APC ticket. However, we discovered his name on the delegates’ papers of ADC. Unlike his father, he lacks the courage to follow in his footsteps or announce his move to ADC instead of engaging in anti-party activities. Please give Kaduna North to Abdul’aziz Kaka, not this arrogant and imposed boy.

@emmaikumeh @MyksonDosSantos So you mean that the country cannot ensure security for the citizens of other countries in your country? That is not a useful thing to say. It is very very bad messaging. You seem to suggest that there are “Iranian sympathizers that can bomb places, even embassies, in Nigeria?

@SimplyTEEWHY @SamboMaiHula Honestly, the young man is one guy who can win re-election on any platform on the back of his own records, so long as elections are free and fair. If you are not from Kaduna, keep watch and see what his constituents think of him. I am from Southern Kaduna but this guy is solid.

@SimplyTEEWHY @SamboMaiHula The metric is that I am his constituent and I don’t like the young man but he has proven most of his septics wrong including me. Ask his constituents and see. So, the metrics? Performance vis-a-vis the rest of his colleagues from the state. He is unlike his father, to me.

The Islamic cleric who placed a million naira bounty on the head of the pastor accused of blasphemy has restated his resolve: “…whoever fulfills that requirement (beh3ading the pastor), I swear to Allah I’ll give him that money (one million naira), no retreat… we have nothing to lose if after beh3ading this pastor Arewa plunges into chaos…” Is it not amazing how sheer hate and incitement to violence is spewed with so much zeal and utmost disregard to constituted authority! Well, let’s pretend the government/security agencies of this “secular state” don’t know about this.
