Most of us lose mental battles before they begin. Not because we're weak, but because we negotiate with ourselves. "I'll start Monday" "One more hour of sleep" "I'll do it when I feel ready" Here is what high-performing minds do differently: They make the decision once ☝️ Not every morning. Not every time resistance shows up. Once! "I am someone who does this." Identity is stronger than motivation. Motivation is a feeling, it comes and goes. Identity is a position, it holds under pressure. Stop negotiating with yourself. Decide who you are. Then act like it. Every time. Without exception! That is how you an IronMind 🧠🦾

Mental strength isn't a personality trait. It's a skill. Like every skill, it is built through deliberate, repeated practice in real life conditions. Most of us were never taught this. We assume we are either mentally strong or we aren't. So we never train the one thing that determines the quality of every single experience we will ever have. Here is how you start: Every time you feel resistance, the urge to avoid, delay or give up > act anyway! Act upon it! Action! That builds a new pattern. Then surely enough, it becomes a pattern. That is your mind getting stronger. Neurologically. Physically. Permanently. The gym exists for your body. Daily life, experiencing it and living it to the fullest, is the gym for your mind. @AdamMGrant This is a tricky one. Taste is so subjective. Tenacity & execution are absolutely key to successful delivery of creativity. But those are completely different concepts. Being creative is being curious about the world us and transforming it into format never seen before.

The most important skill for creativity is no longer original thinking. It’s taste and tenacity. In the age of AI, ideas are abundant. Good judgment and execution are scarce. The future belongs to those who excel at finding and amplifying the signal in the noise.

@LewisHowes Having a plan can be as fun as going with the flow! As a matter of fact, having a plan & going with the flow do not have to be mutually exclusive. You can do both & have a fantastic life! (my younger self mind would have been blown🤯😂)

What’s something you believe now that your younger self would disagree with?

@RyanHoliday Total control over our own thoughts/emotions is 'the' single most valuable skill anyone can learn. However, Marcus suggesting the fewer opinions we have the easier/better our lives is a slippery slope. Without opinions we don't exist. Have strong opinions, just be openminded.
