Destiny has been such a large part of my life, it is the only game I have ever stood in line for. I have met a vast amount of people and forged bonds that transcend gaming. I have a strong feeling that this isn't the end of the book just the end of the longest chapter. Nothing will ever beat those long COVID nights of trials. cammycakes once said something prophetic to me in season 1 of destiny 2, verbatim: "this is the only time we will get to play this version of the game, so i'm going to play until it's gone" now nearly a decade later, again, thinking of a sentiment that stuck with me permanently.

It finally hit me.... The place I called home and created so many memories in, is over. Destiny 2 changed my life and honestly even saved it. This sucks

I’ve been playing Destiny since I was 13. I am now 25 years old and it’s crazy to think it’s really over. I am sad but I am very grateful to Destiny for changing my life forever. Rest in peace to my favourite game of all time ❤️

Grieve. Feel it. It was real. It mattered. Not to the outside world, not to the keyboard warriors who tried to put it down. But to you, to me, to everyone who was ever part of this community in some way shape or form in the last 12 years. Never forget the joy it gave you.

I dont want to pick fights currently but its staggering how some people just do not consider community/social team in game studios devs/community members/people.

I’ve officially locked this down. I am quite tired of seeing very hateful/disgusting comments, yes, this game meant a lot to a lot of people. I’ve met some of the most amazing people and some of the worst. Reading some of the positive comments were amazing. Loved hearing positive

datto crying has to be top 10 heartbreaking moments. This is such a tough pill to swallow.

The discourse surrounding destiny 2 is one of two things im seeing: - sadness, melancholy, bitterness, grief, and nostalgia - people saying dei hiring killed the game, along with other abhorrent and misogynistic things. I dont think ill be here for a bit. Hmu on discord if you need to. I'll still be putting going live tweets up, but likely will not be posting much so I dont wind up scrolling. This is hard. Love u guys 💜

At its best, content was a machine to create memories and friendships. No new content stings. This pain is about losing a place where so many memories were made. It stings not because of what it was, but the realization of what it won't be.
