There's multiple ways to find niches but here's what actually works for me (bookmark this)
Most people overcomplicate this, but the simplest method is just spending time on YouTube itself
So make sure to open incognito, search broad stuff like psychology, history, discovery, etc
Then filter by last week/month + over 20 minutes + most popular
Then just click on faceless videos (preferably from smaller channels) and just do this over and over again.
You'll get faceless videos recommend on your homepage and you'll see small channels blowing up (before anyone else does)
But... FINDING the niche is only half of it
Since most people see a channel doing well and just copy it directly. That works sometimes (as long as you improve etc etc) but there's way more opportunity in 'niche bending'
Like if a channel is only targeted on the the US, just make it for Canada or the UK for example
And you can do the same for audience. So instead of focusing on a white audience, you can focus on a black audience for example
This way you're not 'reinventing' anything (you don't have to), but you're just taking what's proven and changing it a bit it for an underserved market
