JOURNO HOSTILITIES — NDCN EXPRESSES DISMAY AT PREMATURE DISRUPTION; COMMENCES FULL-SCALE INVESTIGATION The National Distraction Commission of Nigeria (NDCN) has received with great dismay the news of the premature and unexplained cessation of hostilities in what promised to be the most consequential brouhaha of the closing first quarter of 2026. We have since commenced investigations into the immediate and remote causes and agents of this ill-advised de-escalation, and will leave no stone unturned until we get to the bottom of this matter. We are seizing this opportunity to remind Nigerians that any peace process or attempt that is not sanctioned by the Commission remains illegal, null, void, and of no consequence. As indicated in our previous statement, all persons found culpable of unapproved intervention, overt or covert, in whatever guise, will face the full weight of the music – we are more than determined to ensure that justice is not tampered with mercy in this case. To all the patriotic and fun-loving Nigerians who have been deprived of a long weekend of premium entertainment, we extend our sincerest apologies. The Commission has since activated emergency protocols to secure a credible alternative to replace this aborted brouhaha, and will provide updates as soon as practicable. We will not be distracted from our constitutional mandate, and as always we thank you for your esteemed attention to this important matter.
