Jesus has in fact beaten Genghis in this world. Genghis’ empire is gone, while Jesus’ church is in every land and billions affirm him as their king . He is worshipped every day in every country and in every language. Most importantly, he is alive while Genghis is dead.
S. I. Rubinstein@si_rubinstein

Sorry is it the Christian contention now that Jesus would beat Genghis Khan IN THIS WORLD & that it’s deeply offensive to say otherwise?

The more I read this, the more I realize how it is utterly illiterate. How exactly do you decolonize someone’s birthplace? He lived there. No one came in and conquered his house. It’s just a house of a man that exists. These people are exhausting 🙄

I really really wish we didn’t have to have St Patrick’s Breastplate as the opening hymn for every ordination in America

We are living through a French Fourth Republic-like collapse in national self-confidence and morale.

What is it about the Left needing to pretend the institutions they have captured have always been like they are now? Isn’t it more impressive that they have stormed the heights of all the great institutions of our nation?

I am trawling the websites of Oxford Colleges for work-related purposes. Found this gem on Corpus Christi's website. You know what, I have my doubts that a college founded by a bishop which had Reginald Pole as one of its founding fellows was that 'progressive'. Just a thought

@cath_cov @WalkerMarcus It really is too much, having been called parochial and little Englanders for so very long, now to be sneered at for showing some knowledge of Continental history.

“3. The simplest way to explain the behavior of any bureaucratic organization is to assume that it is controlled by a cabal of its enemies… he noted that a bureaucracy sometimes actually IS controlled by a secret cabal of its enemies – e.g. the postwar British secret service.”

"The true record of how the UK MoD came into being—how the service ministries, like the Admiralty, were abolished—was wiped from Parliamentary, MoD, & Cabinet records. What remained was a purposefully clinical, self-grandiose account that misrepresented reality." This story, covered in my 2021 PhD, is coming to you in book form soon.
Dr. James W.E. Smith@James_WE_Smith

The Admiralty would never have botched management of the Royal Navy or fumbled its advice to HMG as poorly as the UK MoD has. That Britain failed as seapower, naval power & maritime nation–March 2026–would have been unthinkable to Briton's, Parliament's & Gov's in the past.
