Very grateful to the @NFXFoundation for sponsoring these awards and giving our team the opportunity to share results from our recent single-dose RCT in #FragileX (plus a bonus poster on social-environmental factors that may help explain big individual differences in FXS😁)

Really excited about my first manuscript from my postdoctoral work - a narrative review of the pathways through which non-genetic factors (i.e., social-environmental factors/social determinants of health/SDOH) influence IQ in people with syndromic IDDs. Some brief thoughts:

Is the strength of this relationship mitigated or amplified by the presence of the genetic variant? Which SDOH are the most salient? (3) What about adaptive behaviors? Do the same factors contribute to individual variation in adaptive development? (5/5)

If you're into giant correlation matrices, our new paper is for you! We find that sensorimotor abilities in ASD may be particularly affected when occurring on very rapid timescales and/or during continuous (e.g., precision grip) vs. ballistic (e.g., saccade) movements.

Never thought I'd say this but wow do I miss getting dressed up to stand in front of a poster board and stare into my cup of coffee as to avoid making hard eye contact with someone who is still deciding whether they want to have a social interaction. #GatlinburgCon

We are planning to discuss #COVID19 x human subjects data collection in lab meeting tomorrow. Is anyone aware of any NIH-specific communication about this? Obviously we'll be waiting for university-specific communication as well. cc @WalkerMcKinney5
