Walking Calgary

We’re taking a short break from our walks, but when we’re back, we’ll be heading into the stretch drive of our mission. We’re on track to complete the 17 remaining communities by October. In the meantime, here’s an update on our progress. #Calgary #yyc

@KybrdWrrr There have been many enjoyable walks, especially those with great vistas like the ones in Rosedale (McHugh Bluff), Edgemont, and Patterson. The older neighbourhoods, which usually have more character than the newer ones, are my favourite.

#SpringbankHills existed as a semi-rural area of Rocky View County prior to its annexation by the City of #Calgary in 1995. Over time, it has gradually shifted from a low‑density area to a more high‑density, urbanized one. As of the 2021 census, its population was 9,840. #yyc

Yesterday, we finished walking all the publicly accessible residential streets in #SpringbankHills. In doing so, we walked a total of 46.45 km. That brings our count to 187 completed #Calgary communities. #yyc
