One takeaway from senate sports betting hearing: 22 years of being the nicest, bow-tie-wearingest guy in Congress did not spare Patrick McHenry from getting the shit kicked out of him by nearly every senator, no matter their party affiliation. PM opposition is fully bipartisan.

Update: Robinhood has filed a motion to change the venue of the Wisconsin civil enforcement action against Kalshi & RH from the WD WI--where all of the other civil enforcement lawsuits vs. PMs are pending--to the ED WI, where the CFTC's lawsuit vs. WI was the last one filed.🤔

The CFTC filed its federal lawsuit vs. Wisconsin in the ED WI even though the 3 removed PM lawsuits are in the WD WI (home of the state capital). It's almost as if the CFTC is forum-shopping to ensure two bites at the apple--similar to SDNY. Judge-shopping to nth degree.

NEW: Kalshi has filed another emergency motion for a stay pending appeal with the Ninth Circuit, but this one is to prevent the Washington federal district court from immediately remanding the Washington State AG's civil enforcement action vs. Kalshi back to state court.
