problem with scam google ads has been around for many years. yes, @MetaMask hasn’t changed much over the years, but at least it has a built-in phishing detector through @wallet_guard. even if you don’t use wallet itself, every link still gets checked. you can also think about installing @PocketUniverseZ, @Kerberus, @AegisWeb3. phishing links can show up literally anywhere, even on an official x page if it gets hacked. attackers usually pick moments people are waiting for. for example, a hot announcement by @anoma: testnet is ending in a few days. many are expecting an airdrop, which makes it a prime moment for scammers to start massive attacks. always stay alert.

i remember when we were building wallet guard taking home barely any pay, paying tens of thousands monthly to keep servers online to protect users, living together in one house to save money, offering what we built as open source for free some KOLs wanted ridiculous amounts of money for us to simply talk about how to stay safe on a space hell when we asked a KOL to just play basketball with us to promote staying safe they wanted $10000 now we just look back and all we can do.. is laugh 🤣

How to Properly Connect Ledger to MetaMask Many people connect their @Ledger to @MetaMask, but it's extremely important to do it safely. If you input your Ledger's private key or seed phrase into MetaMask, you effectively convert your hardware/cold wallet into a soft/hot wallet, putting your entire hardware wallet at risk. To properly connect your Ledger to MetaMask: Click on Your Account > select the dropdown menu > click "Add account or Hardware Wallet" > select "Hardware Wallet" > choose your type of Hardware wallet > confirm on your physical hardware wallet > select the address you use from the list (typically the first address). This now allows you to use a Ledger via MetaMask, but be safe in doing so! Stay Safe & Stay Vigilant
