WalletCon PERFORMANCE recap (bookmark and take inspiration for your next event) personal note — This was the first event I worked as a Social Lead *and* MC which meant: I had to post in real-time while managing speaker introductions, run of show, making sure the IRL and livestream audience was engaged (not bored), and somehow find time to meet & greet guests. Thank you to everyone who brought me espresso and water.🫡 Ok, on to the numbers. ATTENDANCE > 2,875 signups > just over 1,000 attendees roughly (solid 35%) SOCIAL MEDIA > 4 native posts with 130,518 impressions > 500 new followers, 69 bookmarks > 25 reposts from brand accounts, partners, and attendees (we chose our favorites) > our community @wcthub created hundreds of posts by watching, clipping, an editing livestream snippets CREATORS > I hired and managed 4 high-performing creators (@rektonomist_ @Paulacomesfirst @MariquitadB @PautardR) - 3 of them produced videos and 1 wrote a long-form recap article > All creators over delivered meaning produced more content than I asked for and delivered within 4-24 hours > All content was published on LinkedIn for our more institutional/ TradFi audience > not a “creator” but WalletConnect founder @pedrouid posted a few banger videos showing how WCPay works (they got 50-70% more engagement than his usual content so win-win) > WalletConnect made trending news on X Execution is key but speed matters just as much. We achieved this by having clear briefs and communication on telegram before and on the day of the event. With the short lifecycle of news especially on X, you need to strike while the iron is hot. BRAND REPUTATION > Attendees loved our limited merch > We charged $1-$5 per piece, merch was not free the idea being that guests test WalletConnect Pay, our proprietary payments technology > I spotted a guy at a fancy cocktail hour at a villa the next day wearing a WalletConnect Tshirt > We heard nothing but great feedback POST-EVENT PRODUCTION > My work actually starts now 🙂 in the next few days, I’ll be unpacking each keynote, panel, the photos and sizzle reels to prepare a social media plan that would last us for months head > I plan on *clipping* videos into 30-60sec bits to grab and keep attention rather than hoping people would watch a 20-min video (they won’t) So, was are IRL events still worth it? From my perspective, absolutely. The “hard” part is the lead up. You have to plan well, we held daily meetings the month before, organize pillar content topics, brief creators and the media team, and just pull the trigger on the day of. If executed correctly, you’ll get a spike of social engagement, content for months ahead, real-user product testing, and a boost in reputation as leading companies watch your team smash it. As with everything you see coming out of WalletConnect, it’s a team effort led by our marketing and comms team (@Dolcemaschio - CMO @0x_Dodd - Comms Lead @vnstr_onchain - Product Marketing Wenbin Sun and Luna Wang - Brand & Design Saman Nargund - Partner Marketing @lmeowhelena - Community Lead Paul LeRoy - Events Lead Oliver Stretton-Clarke - Content Manager) What do you want to know about social strategy, content and evens? AMA!

at @wcthub event, @camski asked a panel if they think crypto payment will be on a solo chain as time goes on @Sylvie0301 replied that they will be clear winners and also fragmentations
