During the case — the court gave a clear interim order: no coercive steps against the complainant. Citibank ignored it. Kept sending demand notices. Sent a recovery agent to his home. While the case was still running in court. The judge called it contempt. Final order: ₹76,777 fully reinstated. CIBIL score restored. Citibank ordered to pay ₹1 lakh in costs for harassment. The Delhi High Court also told the RBI directly: the Ombudsman is not a toothless division. Fix your automated rejection system. A bank sent recovery agents to a man's home while a court had ordered them to stop. He won. They paid. Save this post. If a bank harasses you during an active complaint — that is contempt of process.
