@PhilDavidson31 @thewheelhousenj Absolutely 100% , my opinion is very simple - you're a parent first and foremost if you as a parent can bond with your son via baseball that's awesome if you bond on golf course great . Did kid enjoy his baseball experience? Does kid and Dad have a positive relationship?That's it

@thewheelhousenj A lot of us former pros have kids that don’t play in college, or professionally. I wouldn’t say it’s our “fault” if our children choose a different path.

Morning all!! I have a question: If you were a former pro athlete who had 2 sons who followed your footsteps & chose to play HS baseball but didn’t get good enough to play in college, whose fault is it being that you were most likely the one providing the instruction for them?🤔

Coach: Catch is a “drill” not a “warm up” so let’s stop saying “go warm up.” Throwing and catching are the most basic and necessary skills in our game. When we can’t do this consistently in game, we will literally give the other team bases and runs through errors and ball 4’s. Establish a catch routine that focuses on mechanics, glove work, command (throwing to spots), and a mindset of purpose with each throw. When our group struggles to take care of the baseball in game action and we allow loose focus and attention in catch play, WE need to take a closer look at our approach.

High School Pitchers You have to back up bases. It's non negotiable at every level of baseball and you are included. Get out of your feelings and sprint to back up bases. It may be the difference between winning and losing the game.
