What's an excellent movie that is so close to being perfect, and would be just that little bit better if one thing was added or subtracted? Maybe it's less of something, or more of something. An actor change, the soundtrack, the runtime, a certain scene to be cut, etc.

I really couldn’t appreciate Milos Forman’s Ragtine when it was in theaters and then HBO. I got parts of it, but as a teen, I didn’t have the perspective. Rewatched the masterwork today. Could not be more relevant. It deserves a reload and a proper physical media release-release.

The Color of Money finally won Paul Newman an Oscar and while many people criticize the win as a lifetime achievement award, I genuinely think Newman deserved the award. He’s commanding & charismatic as Hell in this film & he passes the torch to Tom Cruise. This was a performance worthy of an Academy Award.

I miss Gene Hackman every time I think about him. This isn't my favorite Gene performance, but it's one of his most iconic. William Friedkin really captured lightning in a bottle in 1971 with this one.
