@delillostan He makes excuses for his mens actions in Troy and the islands they go to, and he feels if he takes the punishment his men can go free, yet he’s proven wrong on each island and each obstacle.

@delillostan He does it for same reason as coming up with The Trojan Horse Trick, not following Agamennmon back, the same reason he antagonizes The Cyclops one last time, and the same reason he brings a knife into Cerci’s home. He thinks himself above everyone else including the gods.

Probably the worst scene in the movie. I don’t mind Nolan twisting the events of the Odyssey to fit his vision (as countless others have done) but this made no sense for Nolan’s Odysseus. Maybe if it was framed as self-effacement it would be better but like. Why did he do this.
