I just compared EVERY line of X's new algorithm patch against the previous version so YOU don't have to Here's EXACTLY what changed: Every post you publish now goes through Grok before the ranking system even sees it Grok grades each post on quality, slop level, whether the image looks AI generated, whether minors are present, topic tags, and 7 other safety categories The output is a single quality score between 0 and 1, and below 0.4 your post gets filtered out of the high quality tier entirely Small accounts replying to large accounts now get put through an extra spam classifier Big accounts skip this check completely But if you're a smaller account engaging, your reply runs through a dedicated model that decides whether it deserves to be shown before anyone else sees it The ranker itself now uses 19 different interactions to decide what reaches your feed 15 of them boost your reach The other 4 suppress it: block, mute, report, and not interested all damage your reach Every interaction someone has with your post pulls the score in one of those two directions Posting 10 times a day no longer means 10x the reach to the same user There's an explicit decay formula that reduces how often your posts surface to a single user the more you post Your first post gets the full weight, every one after that gets exponentially less reach to that same user There are now two ranking models, not just one Phoenix scores every post first, then a second ML model called the VM Ranker re-scores everything before the final placement The output of stage one is the input to stage two Ad density is now hard capped to ~1 ad per every 3 to 5 organic posts on your feed Each ad needs clean space around it, and ads that end up next to a competitor's name or a conflicting keyword get quietly dropped before they ever show up in your feed 6 different topic filtering experiments are running on users right now Some users see 100% of available content for a given topic, others see 90%, 75%, or even 50% You don't get to know which bucket you're in, and it can change without any notice Blocks now apply across quote tweets, retweets, and replies too Block someone once and you'll NEVER see them indirectly again, even if someone you follow interacts with their post Your IP address is now an input to the ranking model It feeds into the model alongside inferred demographics, mutual follow density, and what you've already been shown across past sessions This is the most detailed algorithm any social platform has ever made public You can read the actual code that decides what reaches your feed and how posts get ranked Nothing else online comes close
