@FirstTake @VinceGoodwill The Spurs cannot afford to go into multiple Luxury tax payments like other NBA teams in larger markets, or other teams whose primary owner treats the team as a toy. Those operating budgets are astronomical compared to the Spurs. The second apron normalizes that.

Sometimes it is operates at breakeven since the owners (& there’s multiple not just Holt, Dell) likely have income from other non-Spurs sources. The salary structure fits into that budget.
